Connect AI assistants

Redlist runs an MCP server, so assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code can read your Redlist data, complete work orders and import spreadsheets. They only see and do what your Redlist role allows.

Server URL

https://mcp-qa.yourredlist.com/mcp

No API key needed. The first time you connect, your assistant opens a Redlist sign-in page; sign in with your email and password or your company's single sign-on.

Set up your assistant

Claude

Works on every Claude plan. Connectors added on claude.ai also appear in Claude Desktop and the mobile apps.

  1. Go to Customize › Connectors and select Add custom connector.

  2. Paste the server URL and select Add.

  3. Select Connect and sign in to Redlist.

On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it once under Organization settings › Connectors, and members select Connect.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http redlist https://mcp-qa.yourredlist.com/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, select redlist, and sign in in your browser. Add --scope user to use it in every project.

ChatGPT

Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans, on the web.

  1. Turn on Developer mode in Settings › Security and login. On Business, Enterprise and Education, a workspace admin turns it on.

  2. Open chatgpt.com/plugins, select +, and paste the server URL under Connection.

  3. Create it, then sign in to Redlist when prompted.

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project). Cursor opens the Redlist sign-in the first time it connects.

VS Code

Run MCP: Add Server, or add this to .vscode/mcp.json. On Copilot Business or Enterprise, an admin must enable the "MCP servers in Copilot" policy.

Other clients

  • Gemini CLI: gemini mcp add --transport http redlist https://mcp-qa.yourredlist.com/mcp, then /mcp auth redlist

  • OpenAI Codex CLI: codex mcp add redlist --url https://mcp-qa.yourredlist.com/mcp, then codex mcp login redlist

  • Microsoft Copilot Studio: Tools › Add a tool › Model Context Protocol, enter the server URL, then OAuth 2.0 › Dynamic discovery.

  • Zed: Settings › AI › MCP Servers › Add Remote Server.

Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in works with the same URL.

What it can do

  • Read work orders, tasks, assets, routes, forms and products, and drill into an asset's hierarchy or a route's compliance.

  • Act on anything your role allows. Changes and deletes show a summary and wait for your approval.

  • Import an equipment spreadsheet. Nothing is written until the import plan is approved.

Every request is recorded in your account's audit log. See the privacy policy for how connector data is handled.

Troubleshooting

  • Asked to sign in again: sign-ins behind the connector last 24 hours. Reconnect from your assistant's connector settings.

  • "Permission denied": your Redlist role doesn't allow that data or action. Ask your Redlist administrator.
